Eastern Painted Turtle ( Chrysemys picta picta )


A common turtle throughout the northeast along ponds, marshes, ditches, and edges of lakes and streams. In Schenectady's Woodlawn Preserve they can be easily found sunning on logs along the edge of the pond.
